SHINGLE SEALER™ TESTING and PERFORMANCE

Performance of SHINGLE SEALER™ over decades of being on roofs throughout the globe and in testing has shown positive results. Granule adhesion and retention on the shingle has improved, with 1,000 scrub cycles, the uncoated shingle lost over 5% of the granules, SHINGLE SEALER™ improved this to a 0.2% loss of granules.  

SHINGLE SEALER™ has a permeability rating of 24 perms, which allows the breathability of the shingle as intended to perform and still penetrates, rejuvenates and seals the granules down to extend the life of the shingle roof. EASY TO APPLY - WILL NOT CLOG YOUR SPRAYER

Apply by backpack, pump-up, or industrial airless sprayer, or brush and roller for smaller areas. Thin water-based formula will not clog your sprayer tip as it penetrates deep into the shingles and leaves a breathable topical film behind to protect the shingle roof and lock down shingle roof granules. Two coats at 250 to 350 sq ft per gallon per coat (average 300 sq ft per gallon). Clean up with soap and water.

COVERAGE GUIDE: HOW MUCH DO YOU NEED?

Two coats recommended for best results. Average 300 sq ft per gallon (250-350 sq ft depending on surface porosity). 750 sq ft = 5 gal; 1,500 sq ft = 10 gal; 3,000 sq ft = 20 gal. For roofs with some granule loss, use PERMAGLUE™ before applying. Unfortunately, there is no magic sauce for a bad roof but SHINGLE SEALER™ works great on most roofs. Not effective on shingles with no remaining serviceable life.

SURFACE PREPARATION:
For proper adhesion and penetration, it is essential that the surface be properly prepared. On shingles or other granulated roofing surfaces wash all 
surfaces with a low-pressure water and chlorine solution to remove any previous coatings, dirt, grease, and other foreign materials, especially mold, 
mildew and algae. Scrub, if necessary. SHINGLE SEALER™ will resist mildew growth but will not kill mildew already on the surface! Apply only to a 
sound, well prepared roof surface. Roof surface must be completely dry and free of all moisture. Patch any holes, cracks, seams, etc., with a Clear 
Acrylic paintable caulk before applying the sealer. 

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Stir well before using. Do not apply when temperatures are below 45 degrees Fahrenheit, or when humidity is very high. Do not apply to extremely 
hot surfaces. The surface must be dry and free of all moisture. Do not apply when sealer will be subjected to rain or heavy dew before it has had 
enough time to dry (approximately 1 to 2 hours). Drying time will vary from location to location depending on weather conditions.
Stir product occasionally during use. Apply using brush, roller or spray. Do not apply too heavily so that puddling occurs. When spraying, back roll 
with a thin nap roller cover. When rolling, use a thin nap roller cover. Sets to touch in approximately 1 hour and dries in approximately 1 to 2 hours. 
Wait at least 2 hours before recoating. Two coats of SHINGLE SEALER™ are recommended and required for warranty compliance. Coating will 
appear to be blue but will clear out as it dries. Do not thin this product; apply as it is from the container.
Sprayers:
Pump up stain sprayers can be used. Airless Sprayers may be too powerful, adjust pressure and other settings to spray a uniform amount of product 
without making runs, back roll with a thin nap roller cover.

CLEAN UP:
Clean up all spills, tools and overspray immediately while the coating is still wet with warm soapy water.
